Carl Hestikind

Motor-mounted Officer Hestikind died of Pneumonia on February 18, 1936 as the result of rescuing an individual from the icy waters of the Potomac River.   He rode his remainder of tour in his wet unifom in 10 degree temperature and over 2 feet of snow.   He served as Staff Sgt. U.S. Army Air-Corps WWII before joining the Force.
